ABSTRACT The article explores the development of the female periodic seal in France and Europe in the second half of the 18th century until the beginning of the 19th century. Presented are the various historical and cultural processes that have had a strong impact on the appearance of periodicals and fashion magazines. Historical factors influenced the formation of new styles in art. Fashion illustrations of the period reflecting the style of the garment and the costume are analyzed. Emphasis placed on the development of the women's periodic seal during the period of the French Revolution, the Reformation and the management of Napoleon Bonaparte
