ABSTRACT - The present study is designed to optimize the amount of phosphorus and carbon in the powder-metallurgical construction materials in the system Fe-C-P in order to obtain a high Vickers hardness with a minimum relative change in the dimensions of the workpieces after sintering. Optimization is made by the method of seemingly simplex grate plans. It has been shown that the maximum hardness 180 ÷ 200HV is achieved after sintering of samples containing 0,70 ÷ 0,77% C and 0,45 ÷ 0,50% P, and at a concentration of 0,77% C and 0.49% P not practical changes occur in the size of sintered workpieces.
