ABSTRACT In order to understand the new processes that take place in retail trade and integrated development in accordance with the ongoing process of digitalization, it is necessary to know the overall development of retail in evolutionary terms. There are a number of factors that influence the dynamic development of individual retail formats and managers should take into account many of them, especially in stressful situations such as the coronavirus pandemic. The specifics of online and offline formats require a number of flexible and adequate solutions not only to survive the business, but also to retain and attract users.
