ABSTRACT: The state of the market, with its instruments and operating conditions, is an important determinant of consumer behaviour. The consumer is a key participant and subject of market relations, whose protection is a priority objective and strategy of the EU in the path of ensuring an effective and efficient single market. The aim of this article is to present the challenges and their effects on ensuring consumer protection. The object of study is the national consumer protection implemented within the framework of the conditions provided by the free market. In the study have been used the descriptive - analytical approach, the methods of comparison, analysis and synthesis.
