Ivan Ivanov
Pages: 1-9

ABSTRACT: The article considers the protection of competition as a priority in the policy of the European Union and a national priority in the conditions of an integrated market. The successful functioning of the European single market depends on conditions of effective competition between traders. The possibility for more companies to offer goods or services of different quality and price on a given market, to a greater extent protects the interests of citizens, market participants and society as a whole. Historical developments have shown that sometimes free competition is distorted by certain types of behavior, which makes it necessary to establish rules for market participation that are valid for all companies and aim to prevent the restriction or elimination of competition between them.
