ABSTRACT: The contemporary engineering and instrumental engineering are characterized by continuously increasing requirements for accuracy, reliability and other indicators of the quality of products. One of the conditions for improving the quality of articles is a metrological provision of production of engineering products and developing a productive, reliable measuring devices, providing reliable control of the measured parameters. This paper gives an overview of basic terms and definitions related to analysis and assessment capabilities of measuring devices.
