ABSTRACT - The electoral system of a country affects various aspects of its development. Indirectly it has an impact on the government stability, economy of the state and on the development of the business. The main objective of the study is to establish the degree of stability and similarities between Portugal and Bulgaria. Thus, the aim of the current study is to identify if the electoral system and the business environment in Portugal are related. The object of the study is Portugal and in particular its electoral system and business environment. and the focus is its electoral system, as well as its political and economic development. The results indicate partial political stability and a well-developed economy.
